Indigo Arts Alliance

Indigo is the first and only arts and cultural institution in Maine dedicated to cultivating the artistic development of people of African descent. It is evident from the success of its inaugural year, that such an organization was long overdue. Support from NEFA will be used to support the operation of the artists in residency program, further cultivate professional affiliations and alliances, implement and coordinate public events, and to develop and execute innovative strategies to engage artists and Black and Brown communities in robust discussions and interrogations of art and art making that inspire and affirm. These activities will be led by a managing director- a new staff role.
