Bold and often bedazzled downtown theatre artist, Taylor Mac will tour New England performing work from Mac’s opus-in-progress: A 24-DECADE HISTORY OF POPULAR MUSIC. Mythology meets melody in this interactive musical review, which highlights the perspectives of non-normative, marginalized populations. New England tour partners will present one or more decades in a 90-minute concert having chosen periods of historical significance to their communities. This project is Mac’s first New England tour and it contributes to the creation of an ambitious masterwork and offers numerous possibilities to initiate dialogue on the political and the social implications of the way our stories are told.
