Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival

Jacob's Pillow will present the Pillow Debut of CONTRA-TIEMPO July 8-12, 2020. CONTRA-TIEMPO is a multilingual dance theater company that draws on their Los Angeles lineage with work rooted in Salsa, Afro-Cuban, hip-hop. They perform the evening-length work joyUS justUS, an embodiment of radical joy and justice, a work that will engage local communities as participants and collaborators. The performances will be preceded by an advance visit by Artistic Director, Ana María Alvarez who will co-host a Pillow Party focused on latin dance forms and a week-long residency where company members will work in various settings to engage with community members.
