Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival

Jacob’s PIllow will present Versa-Style Dance Company July 15-21, 2022 as part of our On the Road performance series during the Pillow’s 90th Anniversary Festival. Versa-Style seeks to empower underserved and marginalized groups worldwide through the movement and culture of Hip Hop dance by creating groundbreaking concert dance works that represent messages of diversity, inclusion, and equity both on stage and within communities. This vibrant dance ensemble consists of committed and conscientious artists representing the diversity and beautiful complexity of Los Angeles. For On The Road, Versa-Style will perform “Freemind Freestyle”, a work that “centers around the voices and stories of the Black and Brown communities these artists come from” and uses styles such as Hip Hop, House, Whacking, and Krumping as vehicles for self expression.
