Across Western Massachusetts, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) artists struggle to navigate spaces that are not designed for them or by them. On both the macro & micro level, BIPOC artist throughout our region find themselves continually forced to be reactive in their efforts to create. Running from one space to the next, dashing from one opportunity to the next BIPOC artist can never plan, strategize, and help to facilitate BIPOC expression here in our region in a coordinated and strategically plan. Meeting once a month representatives from different aspects of the BIPOC community will trade information, coordinate resources, and imagine BIPOC art in Western Mass.
