Choreographer Jessica Roseman is Artist in Residence at Lexington Community Farm, land that has provided food for four centuries. This land of the Massachusett and Pawtucket people, colonized by British settlers, is known as the birthplace of the Revolutionary War. For Roseman, a Black, biracial Lexington resident and mother, the history of indigenous and enslaved people calls for equal attention. In NOURISH, Roseman leads activities for LexFarm visitors that emphasize sensory, social, and spatial awareness. Dancing together, participants learn about spatial justice and sustainable food equity. Multimedia artist Olivia Moon is documenting NOURISH for an upcoming film.
