The Joyce will promote and present Camille A. Brown & Dancers in six performances featuring the debut of "ink" at The Joyce Theater, November 7–11, 2018. The final installment of Brown’s dance theater trilogy on identity, with “Mr. TOL E. RAncE” (2012) and “BLACK GIRL: Linguistic Play” (2014) coming before it, “ink” is being created in collaboration with music director Allison Miller, percussionist Wilson Torres, and violinist Juliette Jones. By telling stories and evoking history through a movement vocabulary and score combining traditional African and African-American music and dance, “ink” seeks to empower individuals and communities to find liberation and access their power.
