Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc.

The Joyce Theater debut of Los Angeles-based Versa-Style Dance Company will include six public performances during a weeklong residency, February 21–25, 2023. A moderated Curtain Chat with the artists will follow the performance on Wednesday, February 22, free to ticket holders. The Joyce program will feature the NDP-funded work “Freemind Freestyle,” a project developed by the company’s founders/artistic directors, Jackie Lopez aka Miss Funk and Leigh Foaad aka Breeze-lee. The full-length production explores the concept of freedom using a wide range of street dances. It creates an immersive world through kinetic storytelling and improvisation, resulting in a one-of-a-kind performance each night.
