KAIROS will facilitate an intensive training for dancers with Chiara d’Anna, international actress, director and movement coach specializing in Commedia Dell’Arte. Commedia Dell’Arte training explores improvisations set inside a framework of character situations, with plots borrowed from literary drama, via mask work, heightened acting and clowning.
KAIROS will create "Folktales, Fables & Feasts", an evening of live music and dance in collaboration with Renaissance Men and Sound Icon which will feature several world premieres including: FOXY, a contemporary cabaret interpretation of Stravinsky’s satirical opera-ballet, RENARD; TAVERNOUS, a contemporary dance interpretation of Carmina Burana's 2nd section IN TABERNA; and sHE's a gender-bending solo set to an original composition by Grammy-nominated cellist Dave Eggar. Commedia Dell’Arte training will be imperative in order for the performers to create fully realized, and physically embodied characters for these projects.
