Kingdom County Productions will present The Acting Company's production of August Wilson's play, "Two Trains Running," as part of a special New England Tour - that is reportedly the first such endeavor permitted by the August Wilson estate. We will present the performance on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Fuller Hall, St. Johnsbury Academy - and will prepare for the engagement with a number of outreach and educational activities. We're working in association with Connecticut College, Middlebury College and the College of the Holy Cross to make this happen.
The play is Wilson's seventh in his ten-part series The Pittsburgh Cycle. It takes place in 1968 in the Hill District, an African-American neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It explores the social and psychological manifestations of changing attitudes toward race from the perspective of its urban Black characters. The play premiered on Broadway in 1992 and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
