Keshet Dance & Center for the Arts

Keshet will present Everett Company's provocative work “Bliss Body,” as a part of Keshet’s Presenting Voices Series, which seeks to support artists and companies in an engaged community presenting practice, and includes public discussions between professional artists and the general public in order to contextualize and understand art in relation to cultural events and contemporary issues. Everett Company will be in residence at Keshet Jan 24-Feb 1, 2024; the project includes two workshops; two public performances (Jan 26 & 27, 2024); and two post-show discussions in which a moderated conversation will take place between the artists and the community, delving further into the themes found in the dance work. Keshet and Everett plan to also provide performances/workshops within local juvenile prisons and detention centers, connecting youth and young adults who are currently incarcerated (both pre- and post- adjudication) to this powerful work of art and the artists who created it.
