I am pursuing Embodiology® Teacher Training Module 1 this summer 2021. Rooted in Afro-indigenous principles, Embodiology is a liberating communal movement method that teaches its participants how to utilize dynamic rhythm—of the voice, breath, hands, nature, traffic, music, culture, life— to create captivating on-the-spot performances. Through teaching others how to articulately physicalize and play with the rhythms living inside-outside-around us, I hope to bring communal movement to previously non-designated dance spaces, re-awaken the child-like improviser in all of us, and interrupt the rhythms of white supremacy, capitalism, and loneliness the often dictate our everyday lives.
