The Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Dance at Princeton University will present When Birds Refused to Fly, a contemporary, evening-length dance theater project, choreographed by Olivier Tarpaga, set to the music of Orchestre Super Volta in partnership with the Department of Music and the School of Architecture. This physical piece explores multiple facets of generational transformation culturally and geographically; examining what it is to build up and break down in the name of change. Princeton will host three performances of the piece at the Hearst Dance Theatre in the recently opened Lewis Arts complex on campus
