MODERN LIVING is a performance and video installation that takes place in modernist homes lived in by the architects who designed and built them, including Philip Johnson’s Glass House in New Canaan, CT, and the Schindler House in Los Angeles. Working with members of LA Dance Project, experts in the fields of architecture and design, and members of sexual subcultures and alternative communities, we create a performance score that occupies and opens up the homes, and focuses on the lived relations that structured these iconic sites of modernism.
