Luana Morales, Mar Parrilla, and Yara Liceaga-Rojas are collectively exploring the impact that Christopher Columbus -whose name is found on streets and monuments across the state- has had on Massachusetts-based communities whose ancestors were negatively impacted by his violence. As diasporic artists from Borikén- they tap into their collective memory and challenge existing narratives of oppression by exploring the spirit within space in juxtaposition with the concepts of migration, domination, and freedom. Through this process they aim to create transformative spaces for liberation through dance, poetry, and healing.
