Marin Murakoshi will attend the snow carving symposium March 2-6, 2023, which is part of a month-long 28th Snow King Winter Festival in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. The location of the snow carving symposium will be next to the snow castle and open to the public during the event. The teams of artists requested to carve their works out of 10' x 10' x 10' (3m x 3m x 3m) compressed snow cubes situated in a public space in short three days only using manual tools under the extremely cold environment where the temperature reaches -22F. Murakoshi's goal is to continue expanding learning and networking with the artists and the organizers as she works as part of the carving team and learns how to engage with the local general public and how they support community building through the event.
