The Pasture builds on the momentum and relationships from our previous project The Most Beautiful Home…Maybe (TMBHM). We are hosting workshops and interviewing affordable housing developers, activists, seniors, advocates and organizers in Los Angeles and the Twin Cities. Our engagement process invites the co-creation of a vision for fabulous queer housing with and for those most impacted. For four years our work has centered on housing and we will deepen our current relationships in Los Angeles and the Twin Cities. Mark-n-Sparks are creating a 10-year civic experiment about housing, using the tools of creativity to influence housing policies. This project includes creating a trilogy of performances and dozens of workshops and creative activations about housing. The process has revealed the harsh realities of a housing system that is ill-prepared for the numbers and needs of aging Americans. In response we are creating The Pasture, a queer, senior sex farce about affordable housing.
