This funding will help MASS MoCA (MM) sustain our renowned performing arts program and the extraordinary staff and artists who make it possible. COVID-19 has necessitated the restructuring of our performing arts program, leading to a greater emphasis on residencies rather than public presentations. With this funding, MM will continue to employ our staff and fulfill the needs of artists — who now have limited access to rehearsal studios and professional support staff — through our unique assets of space, housing, and technical facilities. Funding will also support the digital documentation and dissemination of these residencies, allowing MM to engage our now physically-distanced audience.
