Maui Arts and Cultural Center presents Christopher K. Morgan & Artists in “Pohaku” a offers community members opportunities to participate in a master dance workshop, attend the evening premier performance and a post-performance conversation with the choreographer and ensemble to learn about the creative process. In addition, MACC will be traveling Morgan to the island of Molokai where his late cousin Kaimikaua and Halau Hula o Kukunaokala are deeply rooted in their hula traditions. Planned activities include the gathering of pohaku for his performance, a cultural exchange, free music and dance lecture-demonstrations at Kaunakakai Elementary School, and a free evening community performance.
