Antigona is a theatrical flamenco interpretation of the text and themes in Sophocles' classic play, developed by Artistic Director Martin Santangelo in collaboration with principal dancer Soledad Barrio. The score will be a mix of contemporary and ancient musical forms including Chirigotas, an ancient form of singing from Cadiz, Spain, which uses satire to poke fun at politics, current topics and everyday life. Renowned Director Lee Breuer (Mabou Mines) will co-direct and visual artist Mary Frank will design sets and costumes.
