Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts (MECA) will bring Dallas Black Dance Theatre in The Nina Simone Project. The Nina Simone Project depicts the life and history of venerable pianist/singer/performer Nina Simone. The ballet, performed with visual projections and autobiographical narration, is set to the gospel, blues, jazz, and folk songs from Simone s career and spans the many stages of her life from early church life, to involvement in the civil rights movement.
