Live Arts Miami will present Bijayini Satpathy in Miami at the Lehman Theater on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Considered one of the foremost masters of Odissi in the world, Bijayini Satpathy is renowned the world over for her grace and she embodies the spirit and profound storytelling of classical Indian dance in a way few others have achieved. Now, in the prime of her artistic life, Satpathy embarks on a journey to expand the tradition through her own choreographic work and we at Live Arts Miami are thrilled to present her.
As part of her residency in Miami, Ms. Satpathy will conduct two master classes in Odissi dance for the general public, plus engage in multiple classroom lectures for the students at Miami Dade College on March 6-7. The public performance will take place on at the Lehman Theater on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 8PM as part of the Miami International Festival of the Arts (MIFA) at Miami Dade College North Campus.
