In March 2020, the Dance Theatre of Harlem returns to the Detroit Opera House for a biannual performance, including performances celebrating its 50th Anniversary in honor of Arthur Mitchell, and the Midwest premiere of Passage by choreographer Claudia Schreirer and composer Jessie Montgomery. Based on prior performances by DTH, MOT anticipates 4,000 patrons to attend two performances, and to welcome more than 2,000 students for an additional field-trip matinee performance. MOT is preparing a robust education and community program calendar to complement the return of DTH in Detroit.
