The Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond will present and partner with Hamid Rahmanian and the Song of the North project as a cultural touchstone for the University of Richmond campus and an opportunity of engagement with the communities and citizens of Richmond. The highly stylized visual presentation of Song of the North provides an enchanting, accessible entry into the complex and ancient story from the Shahnameh, The Book of Persian Kings. Modlin Center for the Arts will partner with University of Richmond faculty and classes in Theatre/Dance, Film Studies, Language/Literature, Art & Art History for artist classroom visits, discussions and engagement during the course of the ensemble's residency. Modlin will also host a performance of Song of the North for Richmond area Title I elementary schools.
