The Music Center

Caleb Teicher & Company will present Swing Out at The Music Center, celebrating the history and tradition of America’s indigenous partnered dance form, the Lindy Hop. Following the performances at the Dorothy Chandler Theatre, the production will transition to a 30-minute public set on the Music Center Plaza during which audiences can engage in a swing dance jam. Supplementing the production will be an online swing workshop and dialogue concerning the history of swing and cultural appropriation. Given the uncertainty of COVID-19, we have contingency plans ranging from adapting to a virtual event to live programming with social distancing measures.
