Both PHILADANCO! and the Jefferson James Contemporary Dance Theater Series are celebrating their 50th anniversary: for PHILADANCO!, this includes commissioning Black Canadian choreographer BaKari Lindsay to create a new, 24-minute work on 6-8 company members. This new work will become part of the PHILADANCO! tour, on which Cincinnati is a stop for January 21-22, 2022. While in Cincinnati, the Company will perform the work twice in formal presentations, as well as perform excerpts of the work during a free lecture-demonstration for children attending Title I schools in Cincinnati. The Company will also offer a masterclass for local dancers and provide a post- or pre-show discussion/Q&A.
