The Dance Complex will welcome beheard.world’s artists including 9 dancers and 4 poets to present an original performance and an award-winning film to local and regional metro Boston audiences.
The full-length live performance, Suite Talk, will be shown at The Dance Complex in the summer of 2022 as a part of its 30th Anniversary/Fest of Us Festival. beheard.world will integrate 8 guest youth dancers from The Dance Complex and from Dorchester. This original dance work explores the embedded emotional challenges of overcoming racial, ethnic and religious divisions in America.
The film documentary, Invisible Imprints will also be screened at The DC. The movie highlights the moving experiences of the beheard.world troupe as they toured from Jackson, MS, to Chicago, exploring America’s racial history and its impact on them as artists/activists.
Facilitated conversations and engagements on issues of race, equity and inclusion will be designed as part of the residency.
