Amirah Sackett and MR MIC will be one of the highlights of the Bandwagon Summer Series, Next Stage’s premiere summer, outdoor series. The group will perform in front of the backdrop of the Bandwagon, a mobile, touring stage. The series travels to towns throughout Windham County, presenting a range of diverse and eclectic musical, dance, theater, circus, and puppet performances.
The duo will perform, do a Q&A with the audience post show, and will partake in a reception with our audience pre show.
Next Stage is excited to bring a musical ensemble that introduces listeners to experience “BeatBox MEETS Popping.” Amirah is a hip-hop dancer, choreographer, and educator based in Chicago, IL. Her signature style is the funk style dance known as ʻpoppingʼ. As a proud Muslim American, she combines Islamic themes with her dance to share the universal beauty of her faith with audiences of different faith backgrounds to promote unity and understanding.
