Next Stage Arts Project

Next Stage Arts is presenting Burlington Taiko, a Burlington, VT based Japanese Taiko Drumming ensemble, during the organization’s outdoor Bandwagon Summer Series. Taiko—Japanese for "big drum"- is a relatively modern revival of ancient Japanese drumming traditions. Burlington Taiko has been performing across the world since 1987, and has been honored three times by the International Taiko Community. Recently Burlington Taiko performed at Putney Central School in partnership with Next Stage in 2021. The group will hold a workshop with Putney Central School students in advance of their performance, as a continuation of their previous engagement. Next Stage Arts is in partnership with the Howe Library in Hanover, New Hampshire to present the group on a New England tour.
