Nia Witherspoon

Nia Witherspoon will write and direct Priestess of Twerk, a devised theater work centering Black women and femmes, presenting them with opportunities to re-encounter their sexualities through the lens of the sacred, increasing bodily autonomy and dispelling toxic masculinity. Developed in collaboration with the Musical Theater Factory the work will also be supported by a multi-year residency at HERE Art Center in New York City, where it will premiere in the Fall of 2022 before touring nationally and internationally.
