Nichole Canuso Dance Company

Being/With: Live is a performance experience that connects two solo audience members, separated by venue and connected in virtual space. Participants are united via live-feed technology and guided through a duet and a conversation with a stranger in another room, known only in this digital space. Being/With is a meditation on separation and connection, loss and embodiment and the power of listening. Led by choreographer Nichole Canuso and a team of dancers and designers, the work facilitates a shared experience that connects participants across divisions of geography, culture, and personal history.

Being/With: Home is a complementary performance experience that connects two solo audience members inside their homes, via Zoom. Developed during a time of social distancing, the online version of the Being/With duet directly addresses isolation, intimacy, and adaptive forms of communication and being together. Presenters might consider bringing Being/With: Home to their local communities in advance of Being/With: Live in order to build trust with audiences and generate interest in the themes of the project.
