Northern Stage has lost $2.4M due to COVID. We cut our expense budget by more than 35% (approx. $1.6M). We historically retain at least 80% of our subscribers from year to year. Currently, we have renewed less than 40%. Our sales opportunities in the upcoming season are limited because we programmed a 4 show main stage season instead of our normal 6 show season. Our current fiscal year is projected to close in May 2022 with a pre-depreciation loss of $116K. A grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts would make a significant difference in closing this gap.
