Don't Feed the Indians is a raucous play and political satire loosely based on Dante's Inferno, and a comedic look at the negative marginalization of Indigenous Peoples and the appropriation of Indigenous cultural and intellectual property.
Part of Pangea World Theater’s Indigenous Voices series in November, this performance brings Brooklyn-based Murielle Borst-Tarrant (of the renowned Spiderwomen Theater) to Minneapolis for three performances of this satirical and powerful look at the ongoing history of racism and the misappropriation of Native images in popular culture. The performance involves a pre-show by the Ikidowin Youth Performance Ensemble, and sales by local Native vendors.
