New Work for Goldberg Variations is an evening-length piece by classical pianist Simone Dinnerstein and choreographer Pam Tanowitz. Inspired by Bach's Goldberg variations, the work is performed by Dinnerstein and Pam Tanowitz Dance. The creative team and Dinnerstein will be in residence at Montclair State for two weeks in July 2017 to set the work in real time and space at the Alexander Kasser Theater. The project returns in October 2017 for its regional debut. Both Dinnerstein and Tanowitz will offer students and the general public opportunities to interact. Dance and piano students will have a rare opportunity to experience the creation of a modern work based on a classical composition.
