OCEAN FILIBUSTER is a solo performance with songs that begins as an epic human vs. ocean showdown. A single performer embodies Mr. Majority - a Global Senate leader who proposes to end the troubled ocean as we know it - and The Ocean - who appears in human form to defend itself and re-center human-ocean interconnectedness. As our present-day climate crisis explodes, fueled by first-world countries and corporate greed, OCEAN FILIBUSTER uses science, sly humor, expansive video, and a 6-person ocean choir to open an imaginative space for audiences to consider and critique the power dynamics that create human life-out-of-balance: out of balance with the earth, and with each other.
