In March 2016, Portland Ovations will present renowned pipa player Wu Man and the esteemed Shanghai String Quartet in their program "A Night in Ancient and New China" at Hannaford Hall in Portland, ME. In addition to the evening performance, Ovations has crafted the following contextual activities: Chinese Film Festival at the Portland Museum of Art; expanded program notes: strings masterclass with the Shanghai Quartet; Artist talk with Wu Man and the Shanghai Quartet; Salon with Ovations Members; and a pre-performance lecture.
