PS 122

Performance Space 122 will present the New York City premier of THEN A CUNNING VOICE AND A NIGHT WE SPEND GAZING AT STARS during our Summer 2017 Season. Created by Emily Johnson, this durational performance will take place from sunset to sunrise on Governor’s Island on 8/18/17. Prior to the performance, PS122 will host UMYUANGVIGKAQ, a long table discussion and sewing bee led by Emily Johnson and visual designer Maggie Thompson on 1/8/17 at the Ace Hotel in New York. With discussion provoked by indigenous dance makers and scholars from the US, Canada, and Australia, UMYUANGVIGKAQ will celebrate and recognize indigenous artists, methods, and audiences.
