PS21 will present two evening public performances of Christopher K. Morgan’s Pohaku as part of the annual Chatham Dance Festival in August 2017. Pōhaku is a dance theater piece bringing together storytelling, hula, modern dance, classical music, and projection design to explore the story of Hawaii’s native people. This solo dance features live music by Kumu Hula Elsie Kaleihulukea Ryder and cellist Wytold. Morgan will teach dance workshops exploring the intersection of hula and modern dance and offer a Q & A after performances.
