REDCAT will present the dance, theater and multimedia performance "Poor People's TV Room" as part of REDCAT's contemporary performance season in February 2018. Combining movement, text, and song, the piece draws from historical and contemporary examples of collective action initiated by African women - from the Nigerian Women’s War of 1929 to the Bring Back Our Girls movement in 2014 - to explore the erasure of women of color in the collective western consciousness.
