Otto Frank is a theatrical performance in development by stage and screen actor Roger Guenveur Smith, exploring the story and legacy of Anne Frank's father, Otto Frank. The piece considers this secondary character in Anne Frank's story and investigates the universality of this story as it relates to family relationships, loss and disappearance and anonymity, beyond the specific story of the Holocaust. The Redfern will present Otto Frank in Fall 2019 as a culminating event in the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies 36th Anniversary celebrations. The Redfern will plan a 2019-20 tour with two committed partners and planning funds will support site visits, outreach, and research.
