The Redfern Arts Center will present Maine-based artist Sara Juli's Burnt-Out Wife on February 4, 2021, with a residency that includes workshops, a panel and post-show discussion. This solo work explores the decay and detritus of marriage. Using her comedic text-driven dance style, Juli explores separation, sex deprivation, and lack of communication, blowing up marriage for a total reimagining. Co-commissioned by SPACE Gallery (ME), Portland Ovations (ME), Dixon Place (NYC), and American Dance Festival (NC) with set design by Pamela Moulton, costumes by Carol Farrell, dramaturgy by Michelle Mola, sound design by Ryan MacDonald, and lighting design by Justin Moriarty.
