Choreographed by Ronald K. Brown for his company Evidence, The Equality of Night and Day will utilize Brown's exquisite blended style to illustrate and challenge the presumptions of balance, equity, and fairness with respect to young people, women, and people of color, in light of contrary current events. Created for ten dancers, Equality will feature Brown’s beautifully crafted, emotive, kinetic storytelling; a new score by Grammy-nominated Jason Moran for his jazz trio; visual elements by African American photography expert Deborah Willis; and text by civil rights activist Angela Davis.
