In collaboration with Third Way Projects, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) Galleries will host acclaimed artist Eiko Otake for workshops with students and area artists that will culminate with a solo performance by Otake. This project is an extension of the SAIC Galleries exhibition “The Earthly Observatory” curated by Andrew Yang and Giovanni Aloi. This exhibition is a multidisciplinary exploration of the ways we sense, portray, and engage our present planetary entanglements and includes Otake’s performance film “A Body in Fukushima” as a projected installation.
