Eiko Otake presents a performance as part of her ongoing project, The Duet Project: Distance is Malleable and in collaboration with artist Beverly McIver at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. The performance is set against the backdrop of McIver’s paintings about Otake’s family, and the themes of loss and caregiving. Otake will perform on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 7:00pm as part of the programming for the exhibition Beverly McIver: Full Circle at SMoCA and participate in an artist talk on Thursday, September 1, 2022 with Beverly McIver. Eiko will also conduct a masterclass for high school students August 29 or August 30, 2022 from 1:30 – 3:00pm. Date to be confirmed upon approval of school district calendar, but no later than July 31, 2022. She will also lead an activity for a Memory Lounge - an arts program for people living with mild to moderate dementia-related illness and their care partners - on Friday, September 2 from 1:30-2:30pm.
