The Lost Art Of Dreaming invites us to reconnect with longing, embrace expansive imagination, connect with joy and pleasure, and propel ourselves toward loving Futures. This powerful new work features full-throttle dance, intimate storytelling, intricate costuming, and exquisite queer partnering … all performed with Sean Dorsey Dance’s signature technical precision, guts and deep humanity.
The Lost Art Of Dreaming is performed by a powerhouse ensemble of five queer, trans and gender-non-conforming dancers – with a rich, multi-layered soundscore featuring original and commissioned music.
Residency offerings include: DREAM LABS – free supportive workshop spaces where trans/queer/allied communities explore what they most want/need/dream of, through embodiment and creative expression; trans-supportive dance classes and workshops; community panels; master classes, and and resources including Postcards From The Future and The Futurist Pledge. The company enthusiastically invites presenters to provide ASL interpretation at performances wherever possible.
Estimated Artist Fee: $15,000/performance (plus travel & hotel); $22,000/week (plus travel & hotel).
