Shakia "The Key" Barron

This grant funding will support administrative and grant-writing assistance for choreographer Shakia Barron as she pursues the expansion of her choreographic scope and dance career. Producing an evening-length outdoor dance performance to premiere in August 2025, having administrative and grant-writing support will ensure that Shakia is able to focus on her art-making, community outreach to engage an audience around this upcoming performance, and the training of her project-based company dancers in preparation for the performance.
