Skirball Cultural Center

Dastak will be presented for public audiences at the Skirball Cultural Center in combination with conversations/workshops with various communities including educators and students. Members of the company will have an opportunity to visit area dance programs to be guest artists. This work will be presented during a timeframe when the Skirball Cultural Center museum will be featuring an exhibition called "Fabric of a Nation" that explores American stories through quilts and fabric banners. The conversations alongside the exhibition, and Dastak will be centered around who the land belongs to, how American identities are expressed through art and expression, and how memory and ancestors inform our sense of place and identity.
