Venezuelan cellist Aristides Rivas and Brazilian pianist Victor Cayres collaborate as the Ari and Victor Duo to present and perform contemporary, classical, and jazz compositions written for cello and piano by Latin American composers. This genre with South American folk motifs was previously presented in our concert series with great success by Incas Wasi, a Peruvian flute group. Ari and Victor are exceptional performers and both contribute interpretation and background insights into this rich musical culture along with examples of classical and jazz versions of the tango.
