An evening-length theatrical flamenco interpretation of the text and themes in Sophocles’ classic work developed by Artistic Director/Choreographer Martin Santangelo in collaboration with composer Antonio Rodriguez, principal dancer Soledad Barrio, Lee Breuer (of Mabou Mines), who will co-direct and visual artist Mary Frank who will design sets, costumes and masks. The score is a mix of original contemporary and ancient musical forms. The piece will be developed in partnership with California State University Monterey Bay/World Theater.
