SPACE will use New England Arts Resilience Funding to sustain paid opportunities, commissions, and projects for artists in our Maine community and towards general operating support for staff salaries for engagement and communications positions. Both of these areas of our financial planning have seen budget shortfalls due to our COVID19 closure and we seek to further our work with paid artistic opportunities in a time where we need the arts to uplift and challenge us as a community, and to close the gap for staff funding to sustain our organizational work and keep our staff whose primary work it is to amplify and contextualize the artists we work with.
